Greetings from the Emerald Isle!
From here at Altiquin I would like to welcome you, the Reader, to my Blog Collection where I will share my reflections. You are indeed welcome and I am honoured that you are taking your time to read my thoughts.
I suppose the purpose of this blog is for you as the reader to get more insight into what we stand for at ALTIQUIN LABRADORS. It is only when you, as the reader, stand in my "shoes" --- through reading my blogs --- that you can really see me for who I am.
I aim to populate a number of Categories. These Categories, it is hoped, will give you the reader a full picture of all things Labrador at ALTIQUIN!
We will be going on a Journey together: Following my 2014 Litter and the pups I held back for training, and hopefully, competition. This blog will present the highs and the lows as I track their progress in Training and, it is hoped, in Trialing.
We will look at some generic training issues from Training Your Pup, Whistle Work and Dog Handling to Game Finding Abilities, etc…..
We will address various Philosophies on Training the Labrador Retriever and look at issues From a Dog’s Perspective.
We will also look at Competitions, Field Trialing and Working Tests, the Irish Field Trials, and a Judge’s Perspective. There will also be room for reflections on Field Trials and Working Tests in other countries: Italy, Hungary, Austria, Sweden, Finland, USA, Canada, France, etc....
For those who would like assistance with their own pursuits, I would like to suggest and recommend becoming a Member of Club Altiquin. My expertise is not limited to dogs; I am also a professionally trained and qualified Guidance Counsellor. Subscribing to our new Mentoring Club - Club Altiquin - gives you access to me and to my knowledge and experience. Sometimes, along with inspiration and vision, we all need a little bit of coaching and direct answers to questions that plague us personally.
Join the Club Altiquin and "get" for yourself a Training / Field Trialing Judge / Dog Handling Mentor.
It will give you support where you need it. .....p.s., i never tire of "talking dogs".
Our Journey together will also include a look at some of my own dogs’ and others’ most Memorable Retrieves. What better way to celebrate these most remarkable animals.
Lastly, I will conduct my own Book and Video Review Section, giving you my views on books I have read and continue to read and enjoy. These will include newly published books as well as old or out-of-print books.
This should keep me busy. Happy reading!
